ABOUT YURTS
The world was changed from inside the yurt, where Genghis Khan and the many great rulers of vast portions of Eurasian continent held meetings, lived and were entertained.

The moment you enter a traditional Mongolian ger you are taken back in time, and feel a connection with nature and a disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. Mongolian yurts (called "gers") have been used for thousands of years from Siberia to Central Asia. Its design and features have stood the test of time. The round shape not only provides a calming space but also withstands strong winds.

Zorig Borjigin Yurt Company is focused on importing the best quality traditional yurts and designing, innovating and producing the best modern luxury yurts.
A yurt is a perfect substitute to a tiny home and is extremely eco-friendly and sustainable.
Styles of yurts
There are two main styles of traditional yurts, the Kazakh style yurt and the Mongolian ger. The main difference is that whilst Mongolian gers are supported by two pillars, the Kazakh (and Turkic) style yurt do not have pillars, and instead have a higher pitched roof and use curved rafters to transfer all the weight to the lattice walls.
We provide modification and upgrades to Mongolian gers by adding sky windows and LED lined rafters, we well as deck building and flooring for your yurt.
For ease of setup, mobility, sturdiness, beauty and more intimate connection with tradition, we believe the Mongolian gers have overwhelming advantages over the Kazakh yurts. All of the traditional yurts we sell and hire are Mongolian gers.

Like many American designed modern yurts, the Kazakh style yurts provide a more flexible and unobstructed space. If you are interested in a traditional Kazakh yurt, please contact us directly.

Our design team is currently engineering a modern yurt we call "Whale Bone Yurt" based on the Kazakh style but uses a mix of modern and traditional material for the best of both worlds. If you are interested in a Whale Bone Yurt, please contact us to register your interest.
